Australian remittance registration
ARMF provides international money remittance services in Australia and is registered with AUSTRAC (with registration number 100812026) as an Independent Remittance Dealer under Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing framework.
Australian remittance providers must be enrolled and registered with AUSTRAC before providing remittance services. AUSTRAC registration relates to AML/CTF supervision and does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee or recommendation of ARMF by AUSTRAC or the Australian Government.
Customers may check the current status of a remittance provider through AUSTRAC's remittance sector register.
Scope of Australian services
The Australian regulatory position must be read product by product. ARMF's Australian customer terms govern international money remittance services. Features shown on global or marketing pages - for example multi-currency wallets, cards, direct debit, stored-value functionality or other payment products - should not be treated as available in Australia unless ARMF expressly launches them for Australian customers and provides the applicable legal terms and regulatory disclosures.
AFSL and financial-product disclosures
AUSTRAC registration is separate from an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) or authorised representative appointment. ARMF DOES NOT HOLD AFSL, nor do its currently offered services i.e. remittances services in Australia, require ARMF to hold an AFSL License. If an ARMF product requires an AFSL, authorised representative status, Product Disclosure Statement, Financial Services Guide, Target Market Determination or another product-specific disclosure, the relevant licensing and disclosure information shall be provided with that product before it is offered to Australian customers.
This Regulatory Information page should not be read as representing that ARMF holds an AFSL or acts as an authorised representative for a particular product unless ARMF separately publishes the verified licence or representative details for that product.
ARMF is not a bank
ARMF is not an authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI) and does not present itself as a bank. Money provided to ARMF for a remittance transaction is provided for the purpose of executing that transaction, subject to the arrangements described in the applicable customer terms.
Any statement concerning safeguarding, trust accounts, segregation of customer funds or Financial Claims Scheme coverage must reflect ARMF's actual banking and settlement arrangements and the terms applicable to the relevant service.
AML/CTF and sanctions compliance
ARMF is subject to applicable Australian AML/CTF obligations for its regulated remittance activities. These obligations may require customer identification, ongoing customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, record keeping and regulatory reporting.
ARMF may also conduct sanctions, politically exposed person and other financial-crime screening and may delay or refuse transactions where required or permitted by law, regulation, sanctions requirements, risk controls or banking-partner obligations.
Privacy
ARMF handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, secured, retained and transferred overseas.
Consumer protection
Nothing in ARMF's website or customer terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may arise under the Australian Consumer Law.
ARMF aims to present fees, exchange rates, transaction information and service limitations clearly so customers can make informed decisions before confirming a transfer.
Complaints
Customers can make a complaint at complaints@armf.com. ARMF's Complaints Policy explains how complaints are acknowledged, investigated and resolved and identifies any external dispute resolution options that apply to the complaint.
Privacy complaints may also be made to ARMF's Privacy Officer and, where appropriate, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Regulatory information can change
Regulatory status, product permissions and legal requirements may change. ARMF will update this page when material changes occur. Customers should review the latest product-specific terms and disclosures before using a service.
